RETOUCH® Silicone Scar Reduction Sheets are soft, non-sterile, sheets of medical-grade silicone that are worn over a scar to help reduce the appearance of hypertrophic and keloid scars. They conform to the body and can be cut into any shape.
RETOUCH® works on old and new scars. When worn immediately after an injury has healed, it can even help reduce the formation of hypertrophic or keloid scars.
Silicone sheeting can help reduce the height of raised scars, help lighten the color of darkened scars, and help increase the elasticity of tight scars. These types of scars often cause pain and itching due to the firmer, non-elastic nature of the healed skin.
Because RETOUCH® Silicone Scar Reduction Sheets are washable and re-useable, they may be more cost effective than many other scar-reduction products on the market. They are flexible and thin, so they conform to the body and are usually undetectable under clothes. They are semi-adherent and stay in place, but can be taped or wrapped for added security.
